Carol P. LaCroix 1959 - 2010 BENNINGTON, VT Carol P. LaCroix, 50, a resident of Pratt St. in Bennington, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y., surrounded by her family, following a long illness. Born in Bennington Oct. 26, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Eugene LaCroix and Patricia Mathers LaCroix, who survives. Carol was a 1976 graduate of Hoosick Falls Central School. Following high school, Carol attended Saint Margaret's School, where she received a degree as a Child Care Technician and later graduated from the Southern Vermont College Nursing School in Bennington, where she received a degree as a Registered Nurse. In earlier years, Carol was employed at the Berkshire Children's Community in Great Barrington, Mass., and later as a nurse at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, Vermont Veterans Home, Crescent Manor Nursing Home and the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. She was a volunteer at PAVE. She enjoyed reading and writing, going to Willow Park and buying jewelry. She leaves her mother, Paricia A. LaCroix of White Creek, N.Y.; a brother, Christopher LaCroix and his wife, Dottie, of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; three sisters, Kelly-Jean Lacroix of North Bennington, Linda M. Baker and Todd of Salem, N.Y., and Mary E. Armstrong and Ted of Bennington; her nieces and nephews, Christopher Lacroix, Jr., and Nicole LaCroix of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Allicia, Meghan, Erin and Jamie Murphy of North Bennington, Katelin Baker of Salem and Corey and Haley Armstrong of Bennington; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington on Wednesday Aug. 25, 2010, at 10 a.m., where the Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Immediately following the Mass, the burial will take place in the family lot in Saint John's Cemetery in North Bennington. There will be no calling hours. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Carol P. LaCroix may be made to PAVE through the office of the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME 628 Main Street in Bennington, VT 0520
