1930 - 2010 Obituary Condolences
Carolyn Harrington 1930-2010 WHITE CREEK Mrs. Carolyn Harrington, 80, widow of Harry F. Harrington, Sr., a longtime resident of White Creek, N.Y. died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness. Born in New Ashford, Mass. June 4, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Walter and Cora Gardner Goodell. Mr. & Mrs. Harrington were married November 8, 1946 in Cambridge, N.Y. Mr. Harrington died March 5, 1999. Mrs. Harrington, in earlier years, picked and sold wild berries. Her interests and hobbies included sewing, baking, and going to tag sales. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Gallett of White Creek, N.Y., Bertha Russell of North Bennington, Vt. and Patricia Haynes of Hoosick Falls, NY; three sons, Paul Harrington and Carl E. Harrington, both of White Creek, N.Y. and Harry Harrington, Jr. of Pittstown, N.Y.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Mrs. Harrington was pre-deceased by three sisters, Ruth Harrington, Annabelle Crandall and Perle Crandall, and two brothers, Francis Goodell and Earl Goodell. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Thursday morning, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Louis Guariniello, officiating. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct 13, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Burial will take place in the family lot in Rosewood Cemetery, White Creek, N.Y. If friends desire contributions in memory of Mrs. Harrington may be made to the support of the family to Paul Harrington through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
