BENNINGTON -- Carrie Ada Peterson, 91, a resident of Rutter Road, in Bennington died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at her home following a brief illness.

She was born in Sherburne, on Dec. 19, 1915, and was the daughter of the late Christie and Laura (Luce) Peterson. She lived a majority of her life in Brandon and moved to Bennington in 1993.

Carrie enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Bennington Little League games. Her favorite things to do included shopping at the mall, going to movies, eating at Outback Steakhouse and playing cards. She enjoyed the J.C. Penney catalog, beaded jewelry, attending parties, and having manicures.

Carrie is survived by her family which includes Cathy “Cate” Tatro of Bennington, her three sons, Ryan Tatro, Patrick Tatro, and Landon Tatro, all of Bennington. Also Carrie is survived by Ellen Palmer of Bennington and her son, Clayton Palmer of Benington. She also leaves Pat Smith of Shaftsbury, and her guardian and very dear friend, Karen Hawley of Brandon; caregivers Bekah Percey and Carrie Haskell of Bennington; and her close friend Joanie Bloom of Rutland.

Carrie is predeceased by one sister, Carol Southwick; two brothers Arthur Peterson and Alfred Peterson; and friend James W. Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday evening, June 25, 2007, at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., in Bennington at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Vincent Coppola, csc, associate pastor of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, officiating.

Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until the time of the service.
