Casimir Frank Rogalski 1926-2008 BENNINGTON Casimir Frank Rogalski, a proud veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, dedicated husband, and loving father and grandfather, died May 15, 2008 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. He was 82. Born May 1, 1926 to Hipolat and Wadyslava Stepnoska Rogalski. "Cas" grew up and was educated in Adams, Mass. He joined the Navy in 1944 and took part in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. He received numerous service ribbon medals. He was honorably discharged on April 20, 1946. He re-enlisted in 1949 and was honorably discharged in 1953. He married the former Helen Krawczyk on July 7, 1951 and they settled in Bennington and raised five children. Cas spent most of his professional career at the Bennington construction firm of Morse and Butler. For several years he was a special police officer for the Bennington Police Department and particularly enjoyed being assigned to Mount Anthony Union High School Football games. He was also a deputy sheriff Cas was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, and especially enjoyed fishing in the Battenkill and deep sea fishing off the coasts of N.H. and Mass. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Helen Rogalski, of Bennington; their children, Robert Rogalski and his wife, Penny, of Bennington, Mary Rogalski of Bennington. James Rogalski and his wife, Susana Dancy, of Chapel Hill, N.C., Joanne Bettit and her husband, Jeffrey, of Bridgewater, and Laurie Rogalski of Bennington; five grandchildren, Marshall, Taylor and Helen Rogalski and Collin and Cameron Betit; several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 10:00 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. The burial with military honors will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday May 18, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
