Catherine H. Rawling 1933 - 2012 BENNINGTON, VT Catherine H. Rawling passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Twin Maples Community Adult Care Home in Bennington. Born in Pittsfield, MA on Nov. 5, 1933, daughter of Edward and Laura (Edwards) Sickell, Cathy attended school in Pittsfield. On Oct. 7, 1965, she married D. Lee Rawling. He passed away in 2003. Before moving to Vermont she had worked in a laundromat in Pittsfield. Cathy enjoyed gardening and taking care of her house plants and flowers. She enjoyed camping and collected dolls as well. Cathy's biggest interest was spending time with her family. Cathy is survived by two daughters, Kim Thomas and her husband Joe of Pownal, and Linda Kelley and her husband Lenny of Bennington; five sons, Paul Lown and his wife Linda of Pownal, David Lown and his wife, Rose, of Pittsfield, MA.; Richard Lown and his companion, Kelly of Bennington, Harold Lown of Bennington and Peter Rawling and his daughter, Trisha, of Shushan, NY. Cathy also raised her nephew, Robert Sickell. She leaves many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She has two sisters, Ceclia Roberts and Theresa Whitacre, both of Pittsfield, MA. She was predeceased by one son, Charles Lown, and one grandson, Steven Rawling. FUNERAL NOTICE: a graveside service will be held this morning, Tuesday March 13, at 11 at the family lot in Hinsdillville Cemetery in North Bennington. Memorial contributions may be made to the support of her family at the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201, through her daughter Linda Kelley. The family would like to acknowledge the great care that she received from Sara and her staff at Twin Maples Community Adult Care Home in Bennington. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, in Bennington, VT.
