1922 - 2012 NORTH POWNAL, VT Cecelia Lorraine (Champagne) Johnson, 90, of 154 Wood Rd., North Pownal, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Williamstown Commons, surrounded by her family.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on Dec. 18, 1922, daughter of Henry and Corine (Filliault) Champagne. She attended the former Notre Dame Parochial School. Cecelia worked at Sprague Electric Co. for many years. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. Cecelia enjoyed Bingo and bowling and was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox.

She was the widow of Ernest Johnson who died on June 12, 1989. They were married on Sept. 27, 1941.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Bisson-Krawczyk, and her husband, Gerald, of Pownal; two sons, Richard Johnson, and his wife, Suzanne, of North Pownal, with whom she lived, and David Johnson and his wife, Barbara, of Bennington; nine grandchildren, Richard Bisson, Jane Bisson, who cared for her in her final days; Becky Darling, Suzanne Bisson, William Johnson, Gary Johnson, Corine Milby, David Johnson, and Keith Coon; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves five sisters, Loretta Smith and Rita Langlois of Williamstown, Teresa Roberts, Eileen Hall, and Claire LeSage of North Adams; one brother, Armand Champagne of Marietta, Ga.; three God-children, Annette Dudley, Mark Langlois, and Shari Blondin, and many other nieces and nephews.

Eleven brothers and sisters are deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Cecelia Johnson will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, are Wednesday morning from 9-10:30 AM.
