Cecile B. Herrin 1933 - 2009 BENNINGTON Cecile B. Herrin, 76, died peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2009, surrounded by her family at Crescent Manor Care Centers. Born on Feb. 8, 1933, in Keegan, Maine, to Hypolite Cyr and Josephine Ayotte Cyr, Cecile received her early education in Maine. She worked as a waitress and short order cook for years in Massachusetts and later in Connecticut. Cecile was an avid Red Sox fan and worked at Fenway Park where she enjoyed meeting with both players and fans. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, painting, rug braiding, and gardening. Cecile had a love for animals as well. She leaves her daughter, Carol Roaf and her husband, Warren, of Bennington; two grandchildren Chris and Josh Roaf of Bennington; a sister, Theresa Collins of Van Buren, Maine; three brothers, Leo Vaillancourt of Lake Worth, Fla., Harold Cyr of Sumpterville, Fla., and Gillman Cyr of Norwood, N.Y., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial for Cecile will be Monday, April 6, 2009, at 10 a.m. from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church Main Street, Bennington. A prayer service will precede the Funeral Mass at 9:30 at HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME. Burial to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at funeral home on Sunday, April 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., when the family will be present.
