Cecile Bero Obituary
Cecile "Ce Ce" Bero

1915 - 2015 NORTH BENNINGTON Cecile "Ce Ce" Bero, 99, died peacefully, Wednesday, Mar. 4, at Fairwinds Residential Center in North Bennington just five days short of her 100th birthday. Born in Gouverneur, N.Y., on March 9, 1915, she was the only child of Cecile (Popple) and James Boulet. She graduated from Gouver-neur High School and Potsdam State Teacher's College in Potsdam, N.Y. Cecile taught English for many years at Clifton-Fine Central School in Star Lake, N.Y. She married Harold Bero on June 30, 1942. They were married for 58 years. After retirement, Cecile and Harold moved to Nokomis, Fla. where they resided for many years. Cecile moved back north in October 2011 to be closer to family. "Ce Ce", as she was called by her grandchildren, loved to sew, knit, and bake. She was also an avid reader. For years she did crossword puzzles every morning with her neighbor in Nokomis. Cecile is survived by her son, James Bero and his wife, Diane, of Shaftsbury; six grandchildren, Michele Lewis and her husband, Todd, Michael Bero and his wife, Kelli, Peter Bero and his wife, Mindy, Amanda Welch and her husband, Darren, Samantha Larew and her husband, Dave, and Nicole Bero; five great-grandchildren Max Lewis, Parker Bero, Dex Larew, Paige Bero and Levi Bero; and several nieces and nephews. Cecile was predeceased by her husband, Harold, in 2001; and her son, Martin Bero, in 2011. We, as a family, would like to thank Fairwinds Residential Center who so wonderfully and lovingly cared for Ce Ce. Wanda "Vanna," you are truly an angel on earth. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family. Cecile loved all animals, so memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter in Shaftsbury, VT., c/o HANSON-WALBRIDGE SHEA FUNERAL HOME P.O.
