1941 - 2015 BENNINGTON Cecilia Louise Dalrymple Pollitt, 74, a resident of Silver St passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Cecilia was born to the late Harold and Mary Rice Pollitt on March 1, 1941 in Bennington, VT. Cecilia received her education in Bennington and had been employed at CB sports, and the Vermont Veterans home. Later in life she spent most of her time with her family, finding bargains at the local thrift store, and spending time pet sitting her grand- doggies, Ava, Ace, and Scooter. Cecilia spent lots of lazy summer days with her grandchildren, exploring all the things her community had to offer. She was passionate, full of life and energy; she always spoke her mind and was willing to help someone in need. Cecilia is survived by her daughters, Gretchen Wilmot and her husband, David, Buskirk, NY, Rosemary Morrison and her fiance, Gordon Hall, Bennington, VT, Jean Bourn and her husband, Michael, Bennington, VT; also four sons, Stefan Strohmaier and his wife, Jamie of Bennington, William Strohmaier of Bennington, Karl Strohmaier of Bennington and John Harrington Jr. and his wife, Chrystle of Granby, MO. Cecilia is grandma of 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one on the way. Cecilia is also survived by her three sisters, Suzette Dupresof Chicago IL, Carolyn Pollitt of Rochester, NY, Willene Martin and her husband, Carl of Bennington, and two brothers, Clinton Pollitt, New Bedford, MA and Curtis Pollitt of FL. SERVICES: There will be a celebration of Cecilia's life on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 1 to 3p.m. at the Masonic temple on Main St. in Bennington; all are welcome to celebrate her life and share stories about how that Cecilia may have touched yours. Family would like to highlight cancer awareness and would ask that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center in Cecilia's name; there will be a private graveside committal.
