Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Cecilia I. Cardinal were held Tuesday from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church where the Mass of resurrection was offered by the Rev. James Preskinis, pastor.

The organist was Louise Gauthier and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the Mass were “In the Garden,” “Ave Maria,” “Prayer of Saint Francis” and “Precious Lord Take My Hand.”

The pall that draped Mrs. Cardinal’s casket was placed by her daughter, Suzanne, and son-in-law, Joseph Badagliacco, and her son, Stanley A., and daughter-in-law, Diane Cardinal. A wooden cross was placed on the casket by Diane Cardinal. The scriptural readings were offered by Barth Vander Els. The offertory gifts were presented by two granddaughters, Kimberly Piscatelli and Jennifer Hardy, and Cecilia’s three great-grandchildren.

Bearers were Mark Cardinal, Mark Brodeski, Mark Piscatelli, Robert Short and Wayne Pineau. Serving as acolytes were Joseph Anton, Edward Molloy, Barth Vander Els and Francis Sausville.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral Mass.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Preskenis offering the committal prayers.

Mrs. Cecilia Cardinal, a former resident of Benmont Avenue, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, in Mystic, Conn.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
