Obituary Condolences

PATTERSON, N.Y. -- Chandler Ashton Reich died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003 at home after a five year struggle with cancer. With him were his wife, Suzanne Schult Reich, his best friend from age six, David Beers and his wife Anne Marie; also his Pastor Ray Millett of Brewster, N.Y., Family of God denomination.

He was born April 3, 1957 in White Plains, N.Y. to Carol Hawkins Reich, presently living on Myers Road, Shaftsbury, Vt., formerly of Illinois, New Mexico and New York state and Charles David Reich of Myers Road, Shaftsbury formerly of California and New York state.

He married Suzanne Schult, formerly of Brewster, N.Y. on Feb. 20, 2003.

For the last 10 years he was transportation coordinator for Norwalk, Conn. Public and Parochial School District.

Besides his wife, Suzanne, a registered nurse, and his parents Charles David (Dave) and Carol, he leaves two brothers, David McKim Reich of Seattle, Wash. and Jonathan Wheeler Reich of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; two nieces, three nephews and one step-nephew, as well as two great nephews.

Chandler (Sandy) loved Vermont and for the last 18 years spent what time he could with his parents at their house. He once remarked that if he had been the poet Robert Frost, he would have put on his gravestone, “If I have promises to keep one would be to see all of Vermont before I sleep.” He died having only a few miles to go.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
