HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Charles A. “Charlie” Foster, 72, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vt. Charlie lived on Fourth Street in Hoosick Falls with his wife of 49 years, Ann (Plisko) Foster.

Charlie was born on May 16, 1933 in Pownal, Vt., son of the late Robert A. and Louise (Cadoret) Foster Sr. Charlie was raised and attended schools in West Rupert, Vt. He served in the United States Army from 1947 to 1953, and saw action in the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1995 from Oak Mitsui in Hoosick Falls. Throughout his life Charlie worked at several jobs and loved farming.

Survivors other than his wife Ann include two daughters, Susan Foster of Troy and Nancy Molyneux of Hoosick Falls; two sons, John Foster and his wife Lorry of Eagle Bridge and Charles A. “Chuck” Foster of Hoosick Falls; and four sisters, Norma Kimball of Hoosick Falls, Florence Martelle of West Rupert, Alice Mae Orzech of West Rutland, Vt. and Betty Lurvey of West Pawlet, Vt. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and special friends the McAuliffe family, the Burns family and the Sheldon family. Charlie is predeceased by a son, Robert “Bobby” Foster, a sister, Dorothy Baker, and a brother, Robert Foster.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church through the funeral home.
