Charles M. (Chuck) Brownell 84, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. He was born in West Hoosick, NY, the son of Ethel and Raymond Brownell. His first marriage to Ruth Tilley, they had two daughters, Lisa and Lorie both of Hoosick Falls and a son, Wayne of Florida. In 1996 Charlie married the former Kay La Flamme. She had four sons; Ed Jr., who died in 1992, surviving are Peter (Mary Beth) La Flamme, of Eagle Bridge, NY, Stanley (Arlene) La Flamme of N.C., and Jeff La Flamme of Brattleboro, VT. Charles is also survived by three sisters; Helen Filkins, Gladys Goodermote and Shirley Cottrell, brothers, Kenneth and Malcolm Brownell, six grandchildren also four step-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a brother, Milton. Charles built several houses in the area and when he lived on the Hill Road Farm he raised prize winning hereford cattle. At one time he served on the school board and was a rural mailman. He loved life and knew everyone as they knew him. Charles requested no viewing hours or funeral services. Pastor Dale Hall will conduct graveside services on Friday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. My Love is at peace now and heaven awaits him. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to either the or the American Cancer Fund through the funeral home.
