Charles Leonard Bulterman 1922-2011 Charles Leonard Bulterman, 88, a former resident of Dorset, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Crescent Manor Care Center in Bennington. Born December 24, 1922 in den Haag, Netherlands, he was the son of the late Henry and Hendrika (den Hoed) Bulterman. Charles grew up and received his education in den Haag in the Netherlands. During World War II Charles was active in the Dutch Resistance. For many years he was employed by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. He served as the United States Sales Manager and then became director of Passenger Marketing. He retired from KLM as Regional Manager of the southeastern United States. Charles was a member of the Dorset Field Club and the Corn Exchange Club. He enjoyed golf, tennis and gardening. Survivors include two sons, Peter Bulterman of Bennington and Charles Frederick Bulterman of Cary, Ill.; four grandchildren, Alexander Schein of Rhinebeck, N.Y., Whitney Ann Bulterman of Denver, Colo., Tyler James and Lindsay Alison Cerasa of Cary, Ill.; a great-grandchild, Luke Cerasa; a sister, Mieke Villanuevea of Short Hills, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Gay Bulterman of Raleigh, N.C., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was predeceased by four brothers, George, Henry, Jacques and Rudolf Bulterman. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from St. Peters Episcopal Church in Bennington on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. where the Burial Office will be offered by Rev. Paul L. Gratz, rector. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. Burial will take place in the family lot in Dellwood Cemetery, Manchester. Should friends desire memorial contributions in Charles Leonard Bulterman's memory may be made to the Salvation Army through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
