NORTH HOOSICK, N.Y. -- Charles “Nate” Case, 73, died Thursday at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. He resided in North Hoosick with his wife Janet (Watson) Case.

He was born Aug. 24, 1932, in North Hoosick, son of the late Nathan J. and Dorothy (Lacy) Case. Nate was educated at Hoosick Falls High School. He worked for Columbia Box in Walloomsac until retiring in 1995. After retiring he owned and operated Cases Saw Sharpening and Small Engine Repairs at his residence. He was a member of the Derby Club, Pioneer Rod & Gun Club and the St. Stanislaw Society, all in Hoosick Falls. He enjoyed hunting.

Survivors other than his wife, Janet, include two daughters, Kathleen Case of Stephentown, and Julie Case of Bennington, Vt.; three sons, Robert Case of Babcock Lake, John Case of Cambridge, and Eric Case of Hoosick Falls; a sister, Lois Manchester of Petersburgh; also survived by six grandchildren. He is predeceased by a sister, Margaret Niles, and two brothers, John and Albert Case.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
