Charles H. "Grumpy" Eddy 1935 - 2008 MANCHESTER, VT. - Charles H. "Grumpy" Eddy, 72, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Born Aug. 24, 1935 in Newport, N.H., the son of Bert M. and Ida Channell Eddy, at the age of 8 ,he moved to Vermont and lived with his grandmother, Grace Eddy and his Uncle and Aunt, Poppy and Leola Eddy. He graduated from the Burr and Burton Seminary in 1956. Mr. Eddy was employed as a cook at numerous restaurants in the Manchester area, including Ormsby Hill, Quality, The Equinox Hotel and Avalanche. He was a member of the Manchester Eagles and a social member of the VFW. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Juanita Raye Hyatt, whom he married June 14, 1964 at the Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester; a granddaughter Ashley, who had lived with her grandparents from the age of 3 until she entered the Navy; grandchildren Jeffrey, Katelyn and Marissa; great-grandchildren,Makaila, Demitri and Demarco; brothers, Bert and Allen Eddy of Charlestown, N.H., and a sister, Grace Campoli of Sunrise, Fla. He was predeceased by his daughter, Heidi Irene Eddy Lake on Jan. 26, 2004,; two brothers, Marlin and Michael Eddy and three sisters, Janice Nelson, Carol Pellerin and Linda Willey. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be held Friday, March 7, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the Brewster Funeral Home, 34 Park Place, Manchester. Friends may call at the funeral home on March 7 from 2 until the time of the service.
