Obituary Condolences

BURLINGTON -- Charles H. Reis Jr. died June 22, 2006, surrounded by his family. He passed away following a long illness. He was born in Teaneck, N.J., March 3, 1949, the second of four children born to Charles and Josephine Reis.

Charlie moved to Vermont in 1974 and resided in Bennington until 1981. He then moved to Burlington where he was a police officer for six years. He was also employed by the sheriff’s department. He was employed by Rice High School as a caretaker and groundskeeper. Charlie was self-employed and held various other positions.

Survivors include Ginette Reis; two daughters, Suzanne and Sarah; a son, Jeremy; a sister, Josephine Yuppa of Wood Cliff Lake, N.J.; two brothers, Thomas Reis of Dallas and Jeff Reis of Bennington.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Alisha Reis, in 1987, and his parents, Charles H. and Josephine F. Reis, in 2002.

Calling hours will be Monday, June 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home in Burlington. The funeral will be Tuesday, June 27, at 9 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church in Burlington.
