Charles R. Bushika 1940 - 2009 BENNINGTON Charles R. Bushika, 68, of Bennington, passed away quietly at home on Saturday, April 4, 2009. Born on July 28, 1940, to Joseph and Gladys Bushika of Stamford, he was the 8th of 10 children. He attended local schools and was a 1958 graduate of Drury High School in North Adams. Mr. Bushika was last employed at Steinerfilm in Williamstown, Mass., for nearly 20 years until his retirement in 2005. He leaves his daughters, Monique and Michelle and their husbands; two sons from his first marriage; two sisters, Helen Wardwell and Elizabeth Smiley; four brothers, Joseph Jr., Walter, Thomas, and James; three grandsons, Jesse, Gabriel, and Caleb; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and his second wife, June, to whom he remained close. \ He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Arthur, George, and Frank. A lover of the outdoors and an avid hunter for many years, Charles also enjoyed watching sports, painting, travel, cooking, and writing, though he most loved spending time with family and close friends. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Charles Bushika will be Thursday, April 9, 2009, at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Natural Resource Defense Council in care of the funeral home.
