EAGLE BRIDGE, N.Y. -- Charles R. “Charlie” Cone, 73, died Thursday, March 13, 2203 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction, Vt. He resided on River Road in Eagle Bridge.

He was born Sept. 23, 1929 in New London, Conn., son of the late Charles Roswell and Helen (Peterson) Cone. Charlie was educated in Connecticut and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea He owned and operated Cone’s Garage with his son Bill in Eagle Bridge for many years. He enjoyed working on antique cars, especially his 1952 Ford truck. Charlie was involved with stock car racing all of his life. He also enjoyed camping, boating and fishing.

Survivors include his son William Cone and his wife Maryann of Eagle Bridge, five daughters, Wendy Corsetti and her husband Gerard of Greenwich, Tammy Rafus of Buskirk, Candance Cone of Bennington, Vt., Belinda Tracy and Kathy Cone both of North Adams, Mass., a sister Caroline Miner and husband Donald of Hoosick Falls. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and his good friend Richard “Digger” O’Dell. He is predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude Harte and Mary Kramer.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 17, at 11 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
