ARLINGTON -- Mrs. Charlotte Nicklaw Larsen, 90, a resident of North Road, died Saturday morning, Aug. 30, 2003 at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Larsen was born in Sharon on Oct. 13, 1912; she was the daughter of Edgar and Cecelia (Boss) Bourdon and graduated from New Lebanon (N.H.) High School. For many years she and her husband had owned and operated the Battenkill Inn and for more than 25 years they had shared in the joy of raising bassett hounds, which now have decendants throughout the country.

She was a life member of the Bassett Hound Club of America and enjoyed listening to country and western music. Mrs. Larsen leaves her husband, Karsten A. Larsen of Arlington, and two boys she raised, Richard Weeks of Rutland and Peter Bolster of Danby.

The liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday Sept. 3 at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Dupuis, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland. There are no calling hours. Should friends desire, memorial gifts in memory of Mrs. Larsen may be made to the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in care of the Arlington Chapel of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 528, Arlington, VT 05250.
