BENNINGTON Cherie Lou Desrosiers, 69, died peacefully at home, Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014.Born June 22, 1945, in Walton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Wallace A. Brown and Marjorie E. (Northrup) Brown Gray. Cherie lived in Cambridge, N.Y., and worked at Bentley Seed Company for 12 years. In 2006, she moved to Bennington. She was active in a number of organizations including the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2467 and Society of St. Stanislaw in Hoosick Falls and the Bennington County VFW Post # 1332. She enjoyed Bingo, Pitch, sewing and quilting. She was predeceased by husbands, Stanley A. Moore and Alfred Desrosiers, Jr.; by a sister Rowena-Winkie-Honyoust, and by a son, Raymond Walter Moore. Survivors include five children, Stan Moore of Florida, David Moore (Terri-lyn) of Bennington, Alan Moore of Bennington, Marjorie Moore of Maryville, Tenn., and Virginia Moore of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four siblings, Donna Shaver, Wallace Brown, R. Gerald Gray and Roger Gray; numerous nieces, nephews and their families and Joe Grover, her caregiver of many years. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial celebration of Cherie's life on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at ACKLEY ROSS FUNERAL HOME, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge. Burial will follow at Island Hill Cemetery, Buskirk. Cherie fought a courageous battle with cancer for many years. She requested memorial donations be made to the at www.cancer.org.
