Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- Christine Bacon, 47, a longtime resident of Manchester and East Dorset died at Rutland Regional Medical Center on July 21, 2003. She was born in Bennington on Oct. 19, 1955. The daughter of Clarence “Red” and Christine Morrissey. She was married to Ken Bacon Aug. 19, 1993 in Benson.

She was a loving wife, a terrific sister, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Christine was a minister to those in need, a counselor and a friend. She was a member of the Presidential Prayer Team and received several invitations to the White House. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Bacon of Manchester; her children, Dorothy Swezey Hurst of Mt. Holly, Mavis Swezey Thomson of Manchester, Chelcie Carey and Reynold Carey both of Manchester; her brothers and sisters, Gerri Hernandez of North Bennington, Jean Losaw of Peru, Sid Morrissey of Manchester, Donna Morrissey of Brattleboro, Bill Morrissey of East Dorset, Florence “Pixie” Holden of Brandon, Joan Breznick of Peru, and Becky Strieber of Manchester; also eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation took place at Vermont Cremation Service in Bennington. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, July 24, 7 p.m. at the Brewster Funeral Home in Manchester. There are to be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s own choice, C/O Brewster Funeral Service, P.O. Box 885, Manchester, VT 05255.
