1939 - 2015 BENNINGTON Clara Helen Dupee, age 75, a resident of Shady Lane, died on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2015 following a brief illness. She was born in Bennington on May 7, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Asa and Helen (Dean) Thomas. She was raised in Arlington, VT and received her education in local schools. She married George Dupee in Crown Point, NY on December 2, 1958. Mr. Dupee died on January 29, 1995. Over the years, Mrs. Dupee has been employed at Henry's Market in Bennington, and has worked as a home care giver, and at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in the kitchen, and for over 30 years, was the manager at the coffee shop in the hospital. Clara had been a caterer in the area as well. She enjoyed volunteering at various Thanksgiving dinners and breakfasts at the local clubs and lodges. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club. Clara was good hearted and always there to offer a helping hand. Survivors include two sons, Craig Dupee and his wife, Lorraine of Bennington, and Scott Dupee of Bennington. She leaves two grandchildren; Joshua and Lindsey, one uncle, William Young of Arlington, VT, a sister-in-law, Jean Mullins of Florida, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her close friends; Julie Rabideau, Rosalie Greene, and Jane Bleau, and her best companions; Abby and Allie. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington, at 11 a.m., with the Reverend Thomas Hiltsley, officiating. There are no calling hours scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Unit at SVMC through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
