Obituary Condolences

ARLINGTON -- A service of celebration of the life of Mrs. Clara Marjorie Burton Brush was held on Wednesday morning at St. James Episcopal Church in Arlington with the Rev. Bradford Clark, rector, officiating. The lector for the service was Mary Ann Mento who offered a reading from Ecclesiastes as the first reading and a reading from Romans as the second reading. The crucifer for the service was Fred Grout. Rebecca Sampson, organist, led the congregation in singing “O God, Our Help in Ages Past” as the entrance hymn and “Praise to the Lord” as the recessional hymn. Lindsay Dyett offered “In the Garden” and “The Lord’s Prayer” as solo selections. Mrs. Brush’s nephew Bill Burton and Tony Jewell offered words of remembrance following the Homily.

Interment followed in the Brush family lot at Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington with the Rev. Clark offering the words of committal. Following the interment family and friends gathered in Memorial Lounge at St. James Church for a time of fellowship and refreshment.

Mrs. Brush, a resident of Historic Route 7A in Arlington, died on Sunday, April 18 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington at the age of 95. In addition to family members listed in the obituary, Mrs. Brush is survived by nieces and nephews.

Service arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Arlington Chapel.
