Obituary Condolences

DANBY-- Clarence M. Troumbley, 73, died Friday Sept. 12, 2003 at his residence following a long illness.

He was born on Dec. 16, 1929 in Tinmouth, the son of Dennis and Hazel (Corey) Troumbley.

Mr. Troumbley attended Danby School.

He married Georgiana Rowe on April 20, 1949 in Danby.

Mr. Troumbley had been employed for many years by the Vermont Marble Company and for several years by the town of Danby on the road crew until his retirement in 1991.

Survivors include four daughters, Ida Matteson of West Rutland, Laura Rheault of Addison, Gloria Nichols of Manchester and Christina Cook of Danby; three sons, Mitchell Troumbley of St. Augustine, Fla., Kenneth Troumbley of Pownal and Henry Troumbley of Hartford; two sisters, Betty Hazelton of Dorset, Flora Gallup of Broadalbin, N.Y.; two brothers, David Troumbley of Spartanburg, S.C. and Theron Troumbley of Dorset; longtime companion, Margaret Stone of Danby; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife in 1992 and his parents in 1999.

Funeral services will be held 1p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the United Church of Dorset. Private burial will be at a later date in the Danby-Scottsville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Wallingford-Aldous Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by the Wallingford Aldous Funeral Home.
