Clarence "Bodge" Roberts 1913-2008 MANCHESTER Clarence "Bodge" Roberts, 94, of Manchester, passed away on May 7, 2008 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. He was born in Manchester, on October 5, 1913, the son of Archibald and Alice Baines Roberts. He attended schools in Manchester. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a self-employed and meticulous mason. He also worked for Milton Rockwell for a time. Bodge was a great history buff, especially Civil War history. He was a member of the Manchester band where he played the baritone. He was a life member of the Manchester American Legion and the Manchester VFW Horned-Fowler Post 6471. He leaves his nieces Alice Tiernan of Glenville, N.Y., Lorraine Harrington of Florida, Doris Howe of Liverpool, N.Y., Ernestine Roberts of Bennington, Janice Roberts-Cable of Mendon ; his nephews, Glen and Robert Alexander of Syracuse, N.Y., Charles Roberts of Calif., Warren Roberts of Pawlet, and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, 34 Park Place, Manchester, Vt. Pastor Robert Carpenter of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in Factory Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brewster Funeral Home on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in "Bodges" memory be made to the Manchester Rescue Squad or the Vermont Veterans Home Activity Fund c/o Brewster Funeral Service, P.O.
