Claudia A. Chaloux Barcus

1921-2014 GERMANTOWN, TN Claudia A. Chaloux Barcus, 93, a resident of Germantown, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, following a brief illness. Born in Richmond, Quebec, on Feb. 20, 1921, she was the daughter of Antonio and Matilda (Rheaume) Lampron. She was educated in local schools. Claudia married Leo P. Chaloux in Richmond, Va., on Oct. 13, 1941. Leo died in April, 1981. Claudia later married Joel Barcus in May 1983. Joel died 2005. For many years Claudia had been employed at Grand Union in Bennington. She and Leo enjoyed traveling and camping in their travel trailer. Later she and Joel would enjoy ocean cruises. She was a accomplished cook and baker as well as a skilled knitter and seamstress. Claudia was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church when she lived in Bennington. Claudia was dedicated to her children, grandchildren and great-children. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Robert Chaloux of Pownal, Vt., Patrick and Diane Chaloux of No. Bennington, Vt., Patricia and George Stockman of Collierville, TN and Carolyn and Alden Graves of No. Bennington, Vt.; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Claire Douglas of Burlington, Vt.; a brother, Raymond Lampron of Bennington, Vt.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Claudia was predeceased by three sisters, Antoinette Rousseau, Rosalia Gervais, Loretta Caron; and four brothers, Joseph, Lucien, Beltron and Alyre Lampron. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, memorial contributions in Claudia's memory may be gifted to one's favorite charity or institution.
