1927 - 2016 Clayre (Clay) M. Crawford, 88, a resident of Dunham Road, passed away March 23, 2016 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Clay was born in Wolcott, VT on April 1, 1927 the son of the late Frank and Marion Crawford and attended local schools. In his earlier years Clay delivered milk to many area homes, worked at the Pownal Tannery and for many years Mack Molding. Clay enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a great story teller. He enjoyed playing bingo, loved horses, old country music, traveling once hitchhiking most of this country, was a fan of John Wayne western movies and enjoyed his home and spending time with his family. Clay is survived by his children, Rickey Crawford and his wife Karen of Fredericksburg, VA, Ray Crawford and his wife Angelina of Bealton, VA, Rusty Crawford and his wife Lynn of Ruther Glen, VA, Vickie Aldrich and her husband James of Manchester, Rose Wilkinson and her husband Philip of Arlington and Pauline Edwards and husband Richard of Claremont NH, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Pauline Butler whom he married in 1959. Mrs. Crawford passed away May 26, 1987. FUNERAL SERVICE: Graveside funeral services for Clay will be held Tuesday morning March 29, 2016 at 11am in the family lot in Danby-Scottsville Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
