Clifton "Pat" Tracy 1925 - 2012 WHITE CREEK, NY Clifton "Pat" Vincent Tracy, 86, passed peacefully Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Albany, N.Y., V.A. Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of White Creek. Pat was born in Clemons, N.Y., on June 24, 1925, to the late Fred W. and Harriet (Chaplan) Tracy. Pat received his education in the Clemons schools. A proud World War II veteran, Pat bravely served his country in the Army as an artillery rifleman. Pat married the love of his life, the former Eleanor J. Reagan on May 7, 1949, in Dresden, N.Y. The couple recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Pat was employed for 22 years with Bijur Lubricating as a pump assembler until the time of his retirement. Pat was a member of American Legion Post 13 in Bennington, Vt. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, feeding and watching birds, playing with his cat "Rascal," and the outdoors. Pat loved spending time with his wife and family. His joking and playful manner always brought a smile to everyone's face. Survivors include his loving wife, Eleanor J. Tracy of White Creek; his children and their spouses, Wayne and Patti Tracy of Valrico, Fla., Susan and Gary Albowicz of Ridgeway, S.C., Sandy and Gary Mears of White Creek, Elizabeth Tracy and Derek Woodcock of Cambridge, and Katherine Tracy and Randy Bushey of White Creek; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Harriet and her husband Jack of Richmond, Ky., Ethelyn of Perkinsville, Vt., and Anna of Vermont. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat was predeceased by seven siblings, John, Dave, Fred, James, Gerald, Leslie and Virginia. MEMORIAL NOTICE: Friends may call at the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME (628 Main St., Bennington, VT) on Thursday, May 31, 2012, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. All members of American Legion Post 13 are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to conduct services in memory of Pat Tracy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pat's name to the through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
