Clover E. Sweet Jr.

1925-2010 BENNINGTON Clover E. Sweet Jr. passed into the arms of the Lord on Mar. 2, 2010.

Born Oct. 29, 1925, to Clover Sweet Sr. and Rose Seaton, he was a veteran of WWII, 1944-1946, and served on the USS Bennington.

Clover and his wife, Martha, owned and operated Marty-Moore Greenhouses in Bennington from 1950 to 2008.

Clover will be most remembered for his joyful heart, his quick smile, his love of plants and flowers, and his passion for the Book of Esther.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Martha; his son, Everett, and his sister, June Russell.

He leaves his daughter, Marta Lee Wilkinson and her companion, Robert Pease, of Hudson, N.Y.; his sister, Tina Myers of Pownal, Vt.; his brother, Gordon Sweet and his wife, Elsine, of North Bennington, Vt.; and his sister-in-law, Lucene Peirce of Bennington. He also leaves his son-in-law, Ernest Wilkinson, and his cherished grandchildren, Amy Gifford, Elizabeth Wilkinson and Matt and Natasha Wilkinson and their children, plus many nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL NOTICE: Viewing will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., Mar. 6, with a service of remembrance beginning at 11 a.m. at the Green Mountain Christian Center, Main Street, Bennington, Vt. Burial Services will be held on Monday, Mar. 8, 2010, at Park Lawn Cemetery beginning at 10 a.m.
