BENNINGTON -- Colin Falconer, 82, a resident of Tinkham West, died at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation on Thursday, Dec., 7, 2006, following a period of declining health.

Falconer was born in Oakbank, Scotland, on April 2,1924, he was the son of the late James and Mary Jane (Maxwell) Falconer. He was a World War II Army veteran and upon his discharge received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Theater Campaign Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. He and his wife Margaret “Duffy” Falconer relocated to Bennington eight years ago, they had previously resided in Ridgefield and Westport, Conn. He had been employed for many years as a maintenance mechanic for Pepperidge Farm in Norwalk, retiring in 1987. He was a member of American Legion Post 13 in Bennington.

He is survived by his wife Margaret D. Falconer of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters Mary Skinner and Christina Gibson and one brother John Falconer.

Graveside funeral services will be held at the Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport, Conn., on Tuesday, Dec. 12. There are no calling hours. Should friends desire memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Falconer may be made to the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
