Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- Constance DeMonte, 84, of Manchester, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 24, 2007, at the Equinox Terrace in Manchester. She was born in Easton, Mass., on Dec. 8, 1922, the daughter of Antonio and Joanna Rosa (Fernandes) Correia.

She worked at the House Works in the Jelly Mill in Manchester for 20 years and was very proud of her work there. She worked until she was 80 years old. She lived in Haynes Manor in Manchester for 20 years and became very close with her neighbors. She walked two miles everyday and also enjoyed cross-country skiing. She enjoyed music, especially her grandson Michael’s, and dancing. What she enjoyed most, though, was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith Farkas of Manchester, her son, Louis DeMonte of Fairfield, and her grandchildren, Michele Farkas and Michael and Lilia Farkas. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Farkas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at 12 p.m. at the Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester. The Rev. John Mitchell will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
