BENNINGTON -- Constance S. Kuhn, 82, widow of Edward J. Kuhn, a resident of Fillmore St. Bennington, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at her residence.

She was born in Bennington, Oct. 13, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Lela M. (Waite) Shea Sr. Constance received her education in Bennington and was a 1942 graduate of Bennington High School.

She married Edward J. Kuhn July 30, 1943, at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Mr. Kuhn died Sept. 21, 1991.

In earlier years Constance was employed by the New England Telephone Company and later worked in retail sales at various local companies.

She was an active member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church and a member of the Court of Saint Andrew Catholic Daughters of America. She was a founding member of HIS Pantry. She enjoyed working with the people at Sacred Heart Saint Francis and the families that were in need of HIS Pantry. She enjoyed studying genealogy and working around her yard. Her home and family were her main interest.

Survivors include a daughter Ann M. Kuhn of Pittsfield, Mass.; two sons, Richard J. Kuhn of Tampa, Fla., and Jeffrey E. Kuhn Sr. and his wife Daryl of South Hero; a daughter-in-law, Jan Kuhn of Johnson; five grandchildren, Amy Comeau and her husband Brian of Berkeley, Mass., Sara Kuhn of Braintree, Mass, and Michaela, Jeffrey and Colin Kuhn all of South Hero; a great-granddaughter Katelyn Comeau of Berkeley, Mass.; a sister-in-law Virginia Shea of Bennington; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by seven sisters and three brothers, Elizabeth Groenewegen, Marian Keough, Helen Keough, Dorothy Damour, Irene Cummings, Cecelia Harbold, Virginia Eagle, Joseph Shea Jr., Robert Shea and George Shea. She was pre-deceased by a son, Bernard M. Kuhn who died Sept. 10, 1994.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered.

The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

If friends desire, contributions in memory of Constance S. Kuhn may be made to either the Bennington Rescue Squad or HIS Pantry at Sacred Heart Saint Francis through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.

All members of the Court of Saint Andrew Catholic Daughters of America are requested to meet at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. for the Wake Service.
