Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Constance S. Kuhn were held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, where the Mass of Resurrection was offered by the Rev. Vincent Coppola, associate pastor. A prayer service at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home preceded the Mass. Prior to the procession to the church the musical selection “My Wild Irish Rose” was offered.

The organist was Donald McMahon and the soloist was Monica Murray. Musical selections offered during the Mass were “Ave Maria,” “Prayer of Saint Francis,” “The Lord’s Prayer,” “Lord I Have Come,” “Here I Am Lord,” and the “Old Rugged Cross.” Charles “Pete” Taylor sang “Tribute” in memory of Mrs. Kuhn.

The casket Pall was placed by Mrs. Kuhn’s children, Ann Kuhn, Jeffrey Kuhn Sr. and her daughter-in-laws Daryl Kuhn and Jan Kuhn. The Catholic Daughter Pall was placed by Geraldine Sausville and Gertrude Kinney. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Jeffrey Kuhn Sr. The Scriptural Readings were offered by Mrs. Kuhn’s granddaughters, Amy Comeau and Sara Kuhn. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Mrs. Kuhn’s grandchildren, Michaela, Jeffrey and Colin Kuhn. Words of remembrance were offered by a nephew Harry Kuhn III and the poem “Safely Home” was offered by Mrs. Kuhn’s daughter-in-law Jan Kuhn.

Serving as pall bearers were four nephews Howard Shea, Michael Shea, Edward Shea and Harry Kuhn III and two family friends, Patrick O’Neil and Hiram Blake

Honorary bearers from the Court of Saint Andrew Catholic Daughters of America were Theresa Long, Anna Becker, Mary Morrissey, Geraldine Sausville, Dottie Pallo, Catherine Murphy, Gertrude Kinney and Rita McCann.

Serving as acolytes were Leonard Anzivino, Gerald McMurray, Ted Hajos and Gerald Amadon.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Coppola offering the committal prayers. Robert Tunnicliffe played “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipe at the conclusion of the committal prayers. As the family and friends left the cemetery everyone present placed a rose on Mrs. Kuhn’s casket.

A reception followed the service at the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Parish Center.

Constance S. Kuhn, a resident of Fillmore St. in Bennington, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at her residence. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
