Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Cynthia S. Mann, 61, a resident of Prospect Nursing Home in North Bennington, died Friday evening, Jan. 25, 2008, following a long illness.

She was born in Brattleboro on March 26, 1946, the daughter of the late Ivan L. Mann and Freda Lawrence Mann, who survives.

She was a graduate of Brattleboro High School, and the University of Central Missouri.

Cynthia had been a member of the high school band, where she played clarinet.

Following college, she worked at the former First Vermont Bank in Brattleboro, and for United Airlines. Most of her life she was a home maker.

Besides her mother of Marshal, N.C., she is survived by two children, David Pittman of Tulsa, Okla., and Lisa Pittman Philips of Monroe, La., one granddaughter, Cassandra Paige Phillips of Monroe, and her two sisters, Elizabeth Garvie of Asheville, N.C., and her sister Jennifer Mann-Fore of Marshall, N.C.

Funeral services will be held privately at Morningside Cemetery in Brattleboro in the spring.

There are no calling hours scheduled.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
