Daisy M. Morey 1947 - 2011 DANBY Daisy M. Morey, 63, a resident of Daisy Lane, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2011, at her home ,surrounded by her family. Daisy was born in Proctor on Sept. 30, 1947. She attended school in Granville, N.Y., and graduated from Granville High School. Daisy worked at Orvis as a shipping clerk and then at the Vermont Country Store, also as shipping clerk for over 20 years. She enjoyed watching her son's race stock cars and attended anything her grandchildren were involved with. She taught Sunday school and cherished times spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Manchester and served as Past Madam President at both the local and state level of the Lodge. Daisy married Carlton Morey, Sr. on Oct. 25, 1971 in Danby. Mr. Morey died July 15, 1998. Daisy leaves her mother, Effie Brooks of Wells; her children, C.G. Morey and his wife, Brenda of Danby, Todd Morey of Hydeville, Annette Amsden of Danby and Vikki Ward and her husband, Rodney, of Wallingford; her brothers, Russell Brooks and his wife, Joan, of Wells, and Carroll Brooks of Culpepper, Va.; her sisters, Anita Greene of Hudson Falls, N.Y., Lonna Burden of Danby, Sharon Johnson of Ocala, Fla., and Sheila Armstrong and her husband, Jim, of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; her grandchildren, Carly, Camille, Ryan, Molly, Daiton and Jasonna, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Daisy will be Friday, July 8, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Grace Congregational Church in Rutland. The Rev. John Weatherhogg will conduct the service. Interment will follow in the family lot in Pawlet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 7, 2011, from 6 TO 8 p.m. at BREWSTER FUNERAL SERVICE, 34 Park Place, Manchester Center, when the family will be in attendance.
