Dale R. Long 1960 - 2009 BENNINGTON Dale R. Long, 48, of Bennington passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 15, 2009, in Bennington. Born in Bennington on Nov. 3, 1960, the son of Charles T. and Mildred Cooper Long, he was a 1978 graduate of Burr and Burton Seminary. Dale was an Emergency Medical Technician for 25 years, serving the communities in Manchester and Bennington. Dale attained the level of Critical Care EMT, the highest you can go as an EMT. He loved golfing, the outdoors, 4-wheeling and, in earlier years, hunting. He was a diehard Oakland Raiders fan. He served as the team trainer for the Mill River Football team for four years. Dale was also a Master Electrician. He leaves two sons, Carsen Long of Danbury, Conn., and Timothy Long of Augusta, Wis.; his brothers, Richard Long of Colchester and Charles J. Long, Jr. of Florida; two sisters, Patricia "Tisa" Casey of Manchester and Susan Perry of Charlotte, N.C., and two grandchildren, Alexzander James Aldridge and Cheyenne Skye Long. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Saturday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at the Southern Vermont College Gymnasium. Friends may call at the BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, 34 Park Place, Manchester, today, Friday, June 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Emergency services personnel from all areas are asked to arrive at 5:30 p.m. Southwestern Vermont Medical Center personnel are asked to arrive at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Dale's memory be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad's "Dale R.
