Daniel Blackmer Sr. MANCHESTER Daniel F. Blackmer Sr., 82, a lifelong resident, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Mass. Born in Manchester on April 29, 1926, he was the son of Daniel and Edith Fleming Blackmer. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Blackmer was employed at Ekwanok Country Club as well as the Bromley Ski Center. He was an avid archer, fisherman and hunter. He leaves three sons, Daniel Fleming Blackmer Jr. of Londonderry, and Fred James Blackmer and Charles Dean Blackmer, both of Manchester; a sister, Gertrude Stacy of Venice, Fla.; grandchildren, Molly Jane Blackmer, Angela Marie Blackmer, Robyn Leigh Butler, Nathan Gordon Blackmer and Cassandra Jean Reslie; two step-daughters, Mary Goddard and Norma Brownell; nieces, Mrs. Richard (Debra) duPont of Wilmington, Del., and Sheila Handrahan, and a nephew, Jaimey Stacy. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Dean Blackmer ; by a sister, Genevieve Bell, and by a stepson, John Hale. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, 34 Park Place. Burial with military honors will follow in Factory Point Cemetery.
