David F. Bean

1954-2010 PITTSFIELD David F. Bean, 56, of Pittsfield, died Thursday, July 15, at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield.

Born in Homestead, Fla., on January 12, 1954, he was the son of Christine C. Bean and the late Norton M. Bean. Mr. Bean was a 1972 graduate of Nauset Regional High School in Orleans, Mass., where he took part in track, soccer, and surfing. He continued his education at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind., where he spent a semester studying in Oxford, England.

In earlier years, he was a faithful member of The Lutheran Church. While in Pittsfield, he attended Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed music, especially playing his guitar, collecting items from thrift shops, and spending time with his friends in Pittsfield.

Besides his mother of Bourne, Mass., he is survived by a brother, Michael P. Bean and his spouse, Mary Anne Gauthier, also of Bourne; two sisters, Donna Koehlinger and her spouse, Kim, of Leo, Ind., and Linda Walzer of Casper, Calif., as well as nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial services for David F. Bean will be held Saturday, July 24, at 11 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Sigmund Sadzinski, officiating.

Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association or to a local charity of one's choice in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to The Brien Center, Hillcrest Commons, and to HospiceCare in The Berkshires for the care given to David.
