David I. Morey Obituary
David I. Morey, 75 (Bird Dog) of Rupert, VT and Dundee, FL passed away in his sleep on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at home after months of battling cancer.

Born May 18, 1942 in Granville, NY, he was the son of the late Ivan William and Flossie Beatrice (Clark) Morey of Pawlet, VT.

David was predeceased by his brother-in-law William (Bill) Sady of Wells, VT and sister-in-law Joan Morey of Pawlet, VT and her children Jeff, Jody and Jackie Macheski.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Elizabeth (Libby) Morey and her children, Ruth Banghart of East Arlington, VT; George (Heidi) Fisher of Granville, NY; Laura Thompson & companion, Corey Shores of Manchester, VT; Gordon Patrick of Rupert, VT; David's sons: David John (Nadine) Morey of Granville, NY; Ivan (Heather) Ballard & family of Granville NY; Truman (Jamie) Ballard & family of Kentucky. His sister Edna (EJ) Sady of Wells, VT & niece Darlene Lourie; His brother Richard (Rick) Morey of Pawlet, VT & nephew Kevin Macheski; great niece Sierra Mallory & great nephews Aaron & Thomas Dorr. His grandchildren: Krystle Sue Morey of Granville, NY; Todd (Andrea) Phillips of Appleton, WI; Trevor & Troy Thompson of West Arlington, VT; Timothy LaBonte (Kelly) of Jordon NY; Jonathan & Angela Fisher of Granville, NY; Nicole Banghart & Gabe Vladyka of East Arlington, VT; Garth Patrick of Rupert, VT; Taylor Patrick of Salem, NY. Great granddaughters: Riley LaBonte of Jordon, NY; Gianna & Catherine Phillips of Appleton, WI. Extended Family; Clinton & Clayton Hayes of Sandgate VT; August Smith of North Carolina; Harold (Ginny) Hayes.

David worked at The Danby Marble Quarry as well as several local area farms; the Graf Farm, Charles and Bea Griswold, George Edmonds & Wind Gap Farm in Rupert VT; also Dorr Oil, Manchester, VT; Napa Auto Supply Manchester, VT; and locally as a handyman in Rupert, and in Winterhaven, FL worked part-time at Cypresswood Golf & Country Club.

David enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, along with playing cards & horseshoes.

SERVICES: At David's request there will not be a funeral.

A Memorial gathering will be held Sept 17th, 2017 at the Rupert Fire Dept. Rupert, Vermont from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. Family and friends are welcome to come share stories.
