Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- A prayer service for David J. Sausville was held on Thursday morning, July 20, 2006, at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington with the Rev. Michael DeMasi officiating. Assisting at the Mass was Mr. Yvon Matte. The pall was placed on the casket by Mr. Sausville’s son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Sausville, and by his daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Matthew Greene. The wooden cross was placed on the pall by his wife, Jean.

Special hymns for the Mass included “On Eagles’ Wings,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “In the Garden” and “Just A Closer Walk with Thee.” The soloist was Mrs. Mildred Pierce, and the organ was played by Mrs. Louise Gauthier.

The scriptures were read by two sisters-in-law, Judy Lanfear and Patti Nagle, and the eulogy was offered by his daughter-in-law, Lisa Sausville.

The Eucharistic gifts were brought to the altar by five of his grandchildren, Patrick Whitman Jr., Jeremy Whitman, Shelby Whitman, Samara Sausville and Ethan Sausville.

Interment followed in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.

Pallbearers for the services included three nephews, Thomas Lanfear, Brian Lanfear and Timothy Fox Jr., and friends Bill LaTour, Edward “Tadd” LaTour and Joseph Pineau.

David J. Sausville Sr., 58, a resident of Woodford Road in Bennington, died on Sunday, July 16, 2006, while vacationing in Middlebury.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
