David S. Trombley 1930 - 2009 BENNINGTON David S. Trombley, 78, a resident of South Street, Bennington, died unexpectedly Friday, March 27, 2009 at his residence. Born in North Adams, Mass., April 7, 1930, son of Harry and Lillian Deso Trombley. He received his education in the North Adams schools. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Dave served with the Army Rangers in the 101st Airbourne Division during that time. He married the former June C. Shays on Nov. 4, 1961, in Bennington. Mrs. Trombley died Dec. 2, 1997. Prior to his retirement Dave was employed as a union pipefitter throughout the region and had been active in several area local service and fraternal organizations for many years. He leaves two sisters; Mabel Herman and Lorraine Vigna, both of North Adams, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dave was predeceased by two brothers, George and Gerald Trombley. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family at the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 12 until 2 p.m. Military honors will be accorded at 2 p.m. Private committal services will take place at the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
