BENNINGTON -- Dawn M. Jones, 54, wife of Kenneth J. Jones Sr., a resident of North Branch Street, Bennington, died suddenly Saturday, May 5, 2007, at her residence.

Dawn was born in Prattsville, N.Y., March 10, 1953, daughter of the late Arthur Sprague Sr. and Pearl Fuller. She received her education in the Kerhonkson, N.Y., schools.

Dawn and Ken were married in Shaftsbury on May 28, 1977.

In earlier years Dawn was employed at the former Stanley Tools company and as manager of the Burger King restaurant. At the time of her death she was employed at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

Dawn was a certified message therapist. Her home and family were her main interest.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth J. Jones, and her son, Kenneth J. Jones Jr., both of Bennington; her son-in-law, Matthew Wilkinson of Bennington; six sisters, Patricia Jean Sprague, Vicki Sprague and Luci Sprague, all of Bennington, Mary Parizo and Anthony Salvati of Pownal, Sally Sprague and her husband Alan Ouimette of Alburg, and Kimberly Pratt and her husband, David Pratt Jr. of Bennington; a brother, Pete Peterson III and his wife Naomi of Bennington; her mother-in-law, Joan Browe of East Wallingford; her father-in-law and his wife, Fred and Irene Jones of Bennington; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Keith Jones and his wife Genevieve of Bennington; Kathy Kimball of Williamstown, Mass., Kelly Delapena and her husband Steve of Nashua, N.H., Holly Browe and Tim Lampman of Bennington and Perry Browe and his wife Jeannette of East Wallingford; 19 nieces, and nephews, Christopher Carpenter Jr., Robert Chapman Jr., Herb Sprague, Mike Sprague, Zack Hoag, Josh Barber, Nick Barber, Miranda Goddell, Jeremy Peterson, Skyler Pratt, Cody Ouimette, Laci Peterson, Garrett Paterson, Kayla Kimball, Luke Kimball, Meaghan Delapena, Morgan Delapena, Perry Browe and Chelsea Smith; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. In addition Dawn is also survived by her beloved dog and friend “China” and her cat “AKA Cat”.

In addition to her parents Dawn was predeceased by a daughter, Heather Marie Jones Wilkinson, who died September 26, 2005, and by a brother, Arthur Sprague Jr. and a nephew, Colby Peterson.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Thursday, May 10, 2007, at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Goyette of the Green Mountain Christian Center officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
