Dawn M. Rosso 1960 - 2008 POULTNEY Dawn M. Rosso, 48, wife of Mark S. Rosso, a resident of Vermont Route 140 in Poultney died Wednesday, Dec. 17, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Bristol, Conn., April 7, 1960, daughter of the late Benedict Zima and the former Carolyn Russell Zima who survives. Dawn received her education in the Burlington, Conn., schools and was a graduate of Lewis S. Mills High School. Dawn and Mark were married in New Hartford, Conn., on June 23, 2001. They owned and operated the Bakersville Store in New Hartford for several years before moving to Poultney in 2002 where they co-founded Vermontscents Candles. Dawn had an outstanding talent for not only making candles but also other types of crafts and home goods. She was a long-time 4H member and an avid horsewoman. She leaves her husband, Mark S. Rosso of Poultney; her mother, Carolyn Zima of Burlington, Conn.; a brother, Gordon M. Zima of Terryville, Conn.; two step-sons, Andrew S. Rosso and Samuel R. Rosso, both of Sarasota, Fla.; her father and mother -in-law, Robert and Rita Rosso of Shaftsbury, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer service and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Dawn M. Rosso's memory may be made to either the Dawn M. Rosso Cancer Fund c/o of Citizens Bank or to the RAVNA & Hospice of Rutland through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
