Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Mrs. Deborah Weeks Dufresne, 41, a resident of Bell Street, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 30, 2005, at her home.

She was born in Portsmouth, Va., at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Aug. 28, 1963. She was the daughter of the late George J. Weeks and the former Betty (Edwards) Weeks, who survives. Debbie was a 1981 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

She married Richard E. “Rick” Dufresne on Aug. 11, 1984, in Bennington. Mr. Dufresne died Aug. 8, 2000.

Debbie was employed by the state of Vermont Vocational Department.

She had a great interest in children and had written a book for children. Over the years she wanted to make sure that her family and friends and any stray animals had a roof over their head. She made sure that they did.

Survivors include her son, Jeremiah E. Dufresne, of Bennington; her mother, Betty Weeks, of Bennington; and a sister, Barbara Johnson of North Augusta, S.C. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins,

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, Wednesday July 6, 2005, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard McSherry officiating.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday July, 5, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Burial will take place in the family lot in the Woodford Cemetery.
