Debra Lynn Lederer-Monroe 1962 - 2009 BENNINGTON, VT Debra Lynn Lederer-Monroe, age 46, a resident of Applegate Drive, died on Monday morning, June 15, at her home surrounded by her loving family and close friends following a short illness. She was born in Manchester, N.H., on Nov. 5, 1962, daughter of Anthony F. and Cecile M. Babin Lederer of Woodford, Vt. She has resided in Farmington, Conn., for most of her life and moved to Bennington three years ago. She married Gary Monroe in Farmington. Debra has been a home maker and had briefly worked as a waitress in the area. Debra enjoyed the beach and loved the ocean. She was an excellent cook and she possessed a good sense of humor. Debra always offered a helping hand. She enjoyed spending time with horses and loved all animals. She was a devoted mother. Besides her parents and husband she also leaves, her precious son Jakob, her step-son Shaun Monroe of Hartford, Conn., her step-daughter Megan Monroe of East Hartford, her step-granddaughter Mallory Monroe of East Hartford. Debra leaves one sister Sandi Lederer-Caldwell, and her husband, Richard, of East Lyme, Conn. She has three nephews; Mitchell Caldwell, Zachary Caldwell, Dylan Hinze and Jesse Hinze. She has aunts and uncles and cousins. Debra is predeceased by one sister Cynthia Lederer-Hinze. FUNERAL NOTICE: A prayer service will be held on Friday morning, June 19, at 9 a.m. at the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME in Bennington followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning, June 19, at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Interment will follow in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery in Farmington, CT on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Thursday evening, from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made for Jakob's educational needs through Mr. Anthony Lederer for Jakob, in care of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
