Dennis Decker, Sr. 1946 - 2012 MANCHESTER CENTER, VT Dennis J. Decker, Sr., age 66, a resident of The Meadows in Manchester Center, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. He was born in Bennington on March 18, 1946, and was the son of the late Edward and Rosella (Gates) Decker. He received his education in local schools. Dennis served in the National Guard. For many years he was employed at Bijur Lubricating in Bennington, and took retirement when they closed the plant. On February 14, 1995, he married the former Marion Costorf in Bennington, Mrs. Decker resides in Manchester Center. Dennis was an avid NASCAR and Yankee fan. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Bertha Decker of Pittsfield, MA; his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis, Jr. and Kellie Decker of Ozark, AL, his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Tammy Decker of Bennington, his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Helen Decker of Bennington, and his daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Christopher Holcomb of Newton, Alabama; his stepson and wife, David and Stephanie Connors of Seattle, WA; Stepson Robert Connors of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and his step-daughter and husband, Lisa and Bernie Cross of Manchester, VT and Sammy, his dog. He leaves 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Others survivors include his twin brother, Donald Decker, and brother, Patrick Decker, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Edward Decker, and one sister, Sally Godfrey, a stepson, Jeffrey Connors, a sister-in-law Joan Costorf, and his dog, Chanto. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends may call at the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME in Bennington on Wednesday evening, May 16, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Services and interment will take place privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
