Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mr. Dennis M. Dailey were held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday, Nov. 2, with a prayer, followed by a Mass of Christian death and burial at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington. The Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Edward Howard, pastor, and the Rev. Michael Demasi. Assisting the mass was Mr. Ivan Matte.

The organist was Louise Gauthier and the soloist was Mildred Pierce.

The church pall was placed on the casket by Dennis’ sister Donna Barton and his three brothers Michael, Kevin and Timothy Dailey. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Dennis’ mother, Margaret Perkins. The scriptural readings were offered by a cousin, William E. Dailey III, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Dailey. The offertory gifts were presented by Dennis’ son Jared Dailey, his stepson Eric Comar and his niece Cassie Dailey. Eulogies were offered by Timothy J. Dailey and Thomas Stone. Following the Mass, the burial took place in the family lot in Saint John’s Cemetery with Father Howard and Father Demasi offering the committal prayers. Pallbearers for the service were five nephews, Ryan Dailey, Kyle Dailey, Collin Dailey, Daniel Dailey and Matthew Barton.

A reception followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dailey.

The vigil service took place on Monday evening, with Father Howard and Father Demasi offering the prayers.

Mr. Dennis M. Dailey, 46, a resident of Shaftsbury, died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington.
