Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Donald A. Robinson were held at the Four Chaplains All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home on Sunday afternoon. Conducting the service was Rabbi Howard Cohen of Bennington Congregation Beth El.

Personal reflections and memories were shared by his daughter Christiane, Henry Horenstein and a special tribute was given by Wendy Severinghaus.

Several pieces of music were played throughout the service including “This Land is Your Land” by Bob Dylan, “I’ll Fly Away” by Alison Krause and Gillian Welch and several Louis Armstrong selections. Burial followed in the Veterans War Memorial Cemetery with Rabbi Cohen offering prayers. A delegation from American Legion Post 13 escorted the funeral coach to the cemetery where the flag draping the casket of the World War II veteran was folded by State Commander Ralph Brown and Joseph Krawczyk and presented to Christiane Robinson. Serving as bearers were Christiane Robinson, Henry Horenstein, Sheila McNeill, Bob Guerrero, Karim Ghonem and Donald Cardigny.

Mr. Robinson, 86, a resident of Burgess Road, died Friday at the Vermont Veterans Home. Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
