Donald F. Bourn
1936-2009 BERLIN, N.Y. Mr. Donald F. Bourn Sr., 73, a resident of Plank Rd., Berlin, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Landgrove, Vt. September 22, 1936, he was the son of the late Bert and Nina Wilder Bourn. Donald received his education in the North Bennington schools.
Donald married the former Jeaneatte Kent in Bennington on Dec. 7, 1982.
In earlier years he had been employed at Nancy Shoe Shop, Bennington College, and BenMont Paper Company. In later years Donald worked in the Weatherization Program at BROC and later at ProPack in Cambridge.
An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He also liked playing darts, horseshoes and bowling, taking long drives and doing puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, Jeaneatte Bourn of Berlin; 10 children, Donald F. Bourn Jr. of Cambridge, Lisa Harrington of North Adams, Mass., Mark Barden of Millville, N.J., Michael Barden of Bennington, Vt., Karen Francoeur and Jeaneatte Alderman, both of Berlin, Louin and Raymond Norton, both of Adams, Mass., Victoria Eisenlohr of Buffalo Valley, Tenn., and Joseph Grenier of Winsted, Conn.; three step-children, Morris Barden of Rupert, Claude Barden of Winchester, Mass., and Nancy Williams of Raceville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five sisters, Nina Maxham of Poultney, Vt., Bertha Shores of Buffalo Valley, Tenn., Marion Bourn of North Bennington, Vt., Emily Rowe of Bennington, Vt., and Patricia Leonard of Shaftsbury, Vt.; three brothers, Carroll Bourn of White Creek and Roger and Millard Bourn of Bennington, Vt.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donald was predeceased by two children, Nicholas Bourn and Kimberly Hale, a sister, Doris Sourdiffe, and by six brothers, Robert, Edward, Gerald, Garold, Burt and Raymond Bourn.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME on Monday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robin Greene officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will take place in the family lot in Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Granville, NY .
